Occupational laboratories for severely brain damaged people
Occupational laboratories are a space of assessment, development and enhancement of individual abilities for future work insertion. This is a low-security service, specifically for people with an acquired disability following brain damage. The laboratories are tailored to individual projects aimed at assessing, supporting and/or enhancing useful abilities for working. Time and frequency are dependant on individual needs and the individualised educative project, with the chance of integrative occupational paths in the territory in which they live.
The main goal is to acquire and enhance the prerequisites for useful abilities for a future job placement such as:
- manifacturing ability,
- collaboration,
- operational autonomy,
- organisation of work space and time,
- hierarchy and roles awareness,
- preservation of appropriate behaviour.
The activities mainly concern secretarial tasks (filing, scanning, cataloguing), assembly, management of the coop’s website, internet and e-commerce portal.
