Disabled Adult Day Care centre for social rehabilitation and integration of people with severe Acquired Brain Injury
The Disabled Adult Day care Centre is a daytime service for people with a severe acquired disability whose fragile state jeopardizes their independence in everyday activities. The project involves a customized rehabilitation plan that includes educational activities, social, health and welfare, with the objective of identifying and strengthening residual abilities, of encouraging socialisation, leading the construction of a new self-image and maintaining and improving relations with family members and one’s social network.
The services promote the activation of a link between the hospital and social reintegration by providing relief to the family, allowing people to “experience themselves” and, with psychological and group work support, to once again face everyday activities, thereby enabling them to integrate into society.
